Conference on the new Unified Patent Court at the Italian Parliament
Rome, 12/04/2024 – “The Unified Patent Court is a new international court with jurisdiction over unitary patents and European patents, with headquarters in Paris and Munich and several local branches.
On June 1, 2023, this court opened its doors.
Thanks to the government’s efforts, we were able to get part of the jurisdiction of the headquarters to be assigned to Milan. The agreement for the new Milan headquarters was signed on January 24, 2024, and it will be operational by June.
I have organized this conference in Montecitorio next Monday, April 15, from 2:30 p.m., in collaboration with the Order of Industrial Property Consultants, to take stock of the first months of the court’s work and to get the views of companies, politicians and practitioners of the court itself.
Numerous experts will speak, including Carlo Nordio, Minister of Justice, Antonio Tajani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Klaus Grabinski, President of the UPC, international judges and professors, and other national stakeholders.” – Simone Billi, MP, Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and European Patent Attorney, announced.
